Applications are now open for the TEGAS Pre-Accelerator Bootcamp 2020 (TPAB) which will run from April 13 to 18 at SMA-TEGAS Digital Innovation Hub (DIH), Kuching.


So what is TPAB?

TPAB is a one-week programme designed to take early-stage startups to the next level, from validating ideas into creating a minimum viable product (MVP) and a go-to-market strategy.

It is a pre-accelerator programme organized by Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (TEGAS), and their strategic partners from Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA), pitchIN and WatchTower and Friends Accelerator.

The participating startups will be exposed to contents delivered by seasoned entrepreneurs and industry expert, covering a wide variety of topics beginning from starting up, team and product, going-to-market, fundraising as well as pitching.

Interested? They are also throwing in some (a lot) of perks to the demo day.

At the end of the bootcamp, the selected startups are to pitch their product or services during the demo day, and the top three winners are entitled to get these perks:

  1. Green lane for the following programmes:
    • TEGAS Startup Lab (1-year incubation by TEGAS)
    • Sarawak Shell Livewire
  2. Company incorporation support
  3. Three-months access to the Digital Innovation Hub(s) in Sarawak

What are the requirements to join TPAB?

The bootcamp is open to all Sarawakians (early-stage startups) or startups with at least one Sarawakian co-founder (East & West Malaysia).

The DIH serves as an inclusive platform to support and empower early-stage startups and social enterprises in Sarawak. Funded by SMA and managed by TEGAS, the DIH offers access to affordable co-working spaces, incubation and acceleration programmes as well as access to Sarawak Digital Village Ecosystem network.

Under the Sarawak Digital Economy Strategy 2018-2025 (Digital Innovation & Entrepreneurship: Action 37), the State Government through SMA will establish one innovation centre in each division and facilitate others (private sectors, universities and communities).
